More information:
SCHOOL HOURS- I will pick up our class on the Kindergarten playground at 8:45. Parents can go through the drop off lane in the parking lot and an aid will open the door for your child to exit the vehicle (please help your child practice buckling and unbuckling their seatbelt). If you arrive late, please park and sign your child in at the office. If your child will be late or absent, please contact the attendance line at 602-449-6401 (available 24 hours a day). Feel free to contact me as well, so I am up to date on your child's needs!
WATER BOTTLES AND DRESS CODE - It gets hot! Please send a child-friendly water bottle (labeled with name) to school with your child each day. Kindergarteners are also expected to follow dress code. Please check our student handbook for official dress code policy. Open-toed shoes are not permitted. I will send home a weekly newsletter including our special's schedule to ensure your child has the appropriate attire (i.e. active wear for PE and being outdoors). Please make sure that all dresses have shorts underneath.
LUNCH / SNACK- Kindergarten will have recess at 10:50 before eating lunch in the cafeteria each day at 11:05. You may send a lunch or buy one for $2.25. Children can also purchase just a milk or juice. Lunch accounts may be purchased in the cafeteria before school, but the recommended method is to pay online to avoid loose money (www.pvschools.net/Page/119). We also eat a daily snack in the classroom. Parents are asked to provide a healthy snack for their child daily. North Ranch has nut-free classrooms, so please double check ingredients before sending a snack to school. However, the cafeteria provides separate tables for children with nut-allergies, so foods including nuts are okay during lunch time! Please no birthday treats allowed-non food related items are welcomed.
TOYS AND GAMES- Please refrain from allowing your child to bring toys or games to school. The exception to this is a special event or if your child is Star Student. They can become very distracting and it breaks my heart when I see a student lose, or misplace it!
FIELD TRIPS- Dates will be given as soon as they are available. This is a great opportunity for parents to be involved! If you intend on being a volunteer on our field trips, please contact the front office, or visit the volunteer website (www.pvschools.net/Page/152) earlier in the year as I know the process can be a bit lengthy! If there happens to be an abundance of volunteer requests, room parents will have first priority and the remaining will be drawn at random.
EARLY RELEASE DAYS- On these days, Kindergarten dismisses at 12:15. Your child will need to bring a ''bigger' snack to school. We do NOT eat lunch in the cafeteria. If your child attends an after school program, you will need to provide a lunch on all Early Release days.
More information will be discussed on Curriculum Night and updated as the year progresses. Thank you for your cooperation with our classroom procedures!!
